​Vitali Liauchuk

Vitali Liauchuk is a researcher in the Biomedical Image Analysis department of the United Institute of Informatics Problems (UIIP), National Academy of Sciences, Belarus.

Currently, Vitali is working on image processing, biomedical image analysis, machine learning and pattern recognition. His recent research focus shifted towards applying Deep Learning techniques to big medical imaging data. His latest work is dedicated to automated detection of tuberculosis lesions in 3D Computed Tomography scans and computer-assisted diagnosis based on X-ray imaging. Vitali was also a co-organiser of the ‘Tuberculosis’ task of the ImageCLEF international competition in 2017 and 2018.

Vitali graduated from the faculty of physics, Belarusian State University in 2012 and obtained his master’s degree in 2013.
