Hakan Melih Aygün, Ministry of culture of the Republic of Turkey

Hakan Melih Aygün has almost 30 years’ experience in the field of cultural heritage, both in the academy and public service at the Directorate-General Cultural Assets and Museums under the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He holds a Master’s degree in EnvironmentalSocial Sciences and earned his Bachelor’s in Anthropology. As a pioneer, Aygün has been in charge of the digital transformation in the cultural sector since the National Museum Inventory System (MUES) has launched in 2005. Currently, he is the head of theProject Coordination Office, leading an exceptionally skilled team with multidisciplinary backgrounds. Collegially, they prepare forward-looking R&I projects to address emerging global concerns on adapting cultural heritage to Digital and Green Agendas.
