Hrachya Astsatryan

Dr. Hrachya Astsatryan is the director and the head of the Scientific Computing Center of the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (IIAP NAS RA). He received his university doctorate degree from the Yerevan State University in 1998 and a Candidate of Computer Sciences degree (equivalent to PhD) from the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia in 2001. He holds a Doctoral Fellowship at the KFKI Research Institute for Particle and Nuclear Physics, Budapest, Hungary (2005-2006); a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse, France (2006-2007). In 2005, the President of the Republic of Armenia awarded him for his work in Technical Sciences and Information Technologies. He is author and co-author of 70 research articles in peer-reviewed journals, proceedings, and books. Professional skills cover e-infrastructures, computational science and scientific computing, energy consumption minimisation, Big Data, and artificial intelligence. He has participated in the realisation of projects in association with EU FP, SNF, CNRS, RDA, BSEC, ISTC, INTAS, and others.
