Jiří Navrátil

CESNET

Jiří is engaged with deployment of the cloud environment (AWS, Microsoft Azure, CloudSigma) at CESNET and in the wider NREN community. He joined CESNET in 2006 and led the group that supports special applications such as live video transmissions, building experimental connections for advanced users, etc. He coordinated the Czech team in the Campus Best Practices activity of the GN3 and GN4 projects.

Previously he held various technical and managerial positions at the Czech Technical University’s Computing and Information Center, managing infrastructure, high performance computing and others. He also worked extensively abroad in such roles as IT specialist for CERN (Switzerland), visiting professor for KEK (Tsukuba, Japan) and IT research consultant for SLAC (Stanford Linear Accelerator) in California (US). During his career, Jiří has also been actively involved with APAN and Internet2 communities.
